Frozen Grape ‘Sorbet’

This cheat’s sorbet is my favourite way to turn leftover fruit into a quick summer treat. Rather than a sorbet, which is usually churned in an ice cream machine to avoid the formation of ice crystals, it’s actually closer to a granita, but it uses the whole fruit and natural juices without adding any extra sugar or liquid at all. That’s why it only takes 1 ingredient and 5 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg grapes (or any fruit you like)

Instructions

  • The day before, pick the grapes into a container and pop them in the freezer.
  • Once frozen, simply add all of the frozen grapes to the bowl of a food processor and blend them into a sorbet texture, scraping the sides down once or twice. Divide over bowls and serve.
  • You can freeze the leftovers for another day. When you are serving them, take the container out of the freezer to thaw for 5 minutes, then tip the ‘sorbet’ into the food processor and blend again until smooth.
