How to Regrow Spring Onions

This is possibly the easiest way to give your food waste another life cycle. Just by adding your spring onion trimmings to a glass of water, you can grow them again. And not only once, but for around four cycles! For a boost of nutrients, you can also add them to a pot filled with soil. Just water them regularly and you’ll have a fresh bunch of spring onions in no time.
Course Hacks

Ingredients

  • a bunch of spring onions

Instructions

  • Trim the spring onions about three centimeters from the root, then place the trimmings upright into a glass and fill it with water so that the roots but not all of the spring onion trimmings are well submerged.
Keep the glass on a windowsill or a bright spot and refresh the water twice a week. After around 3 weeks you will have another batch of spring onions. You can repeat the process 3-4 more times.
